The orientation held for new Erasmus students on the 25th of September was a great success, offering a warm introduction to university life in Istanbul. The event provided an overview of what it means to be an Erasmus student at ITU, from navigating academic and bureaucratic requirements to exploring the facilities across the campus. The day opened with a welcome speech from Asst. Prof. Ayda Şafak Ağar Özbek, Vice Coordinator of the Study and Traineeship Mobility Office. This was followed by an informative presentation led by Incoming Student Advisors Merve Dursun and Salma Reffat, along with Samet Muratoğlu from the Student Affairs Office. ITU TÖMER representatives Ayşe Demirhas and Prof. Abdullah Esen also gave a presentation about Turkish language classes, while Nejat Nural from the Health, Culture, and Sports Unit introduced the various facilities available to students. Additionally, Lect. Dr. Burcu Bulut, a representative from the ITU library, provided an overview of the library’s services. After a presentation by ESN ITU members, the day concluded with a campus tour led by the club.

We hope the orientation provided students with the resources they need for a successful academic journey at ITU, while fostering the beginning of lasting cross-cultural friendships.
