Travel Support
In order to contribute to students' travel expenses, the distance between the starting point of the mobility and the location where the activity takes place should be determined using the distance calculator provided by the European Commission. The travel grant should be calculated using the table below. The kilometer value obtained from the distance calculator corresponds to the round-trip grant amount in the table below, and this amount is not multiplied by two.
In the following cases, participants will receive the additional amounts listed below as support for their travel expenses:
Travel Distance               Standard Travel Grant Amount (Euro)             Green Travel Grant Amount (Euro)
Between 10 and 99 km                                    23
Between 100 and  499 km                              180                                                                  210
Between 500 and  1999 km                            275                                                                  320
Between 2000 and  2999 km                          360                                                                 410
Between 3000 and  3999 km                          530                                                                 610

As a general rule, for distances under 500 km, participants are expected to travel using low-emission transportation options.
Green travel refers to the use of low-carbon emission public transportation options during travel. Bus, train, and car-sharing are considered part of green travel. To be eligible for the green travel grant, both the outbound and return journeys must be made using green travel, and more than half of the entire journey must be completed using green vehicles.

Grant Deductions
The higher education institution will make deductions from the grant under the following conditions, provided that they are announced before the mobility and included in the contract:
Deduction in Case of Failure: In Study Mobility, participants must pass at least ¾ of the courses. ITU International Exchange Programs Office reserves the right not to make the second installment payment (20%) of the grant in case of failure.
Deduction for Not Completing the Participant Survey: Except for technical reasons, students/staff who do not fill out the participant survey will have a deduction of 20% of the total number of actual activity days from their grant account. All deductions will be made based on the number of activity days completed.
Full Refund of Paid Grant: If the documents proving participation in the mobility (such as a participation certificate or a transcript of records (ToR) after return, which can replace it) are not submitted, the mobility will be considered invalid, and the student/staff will not receive the grant. The initially paid grant will be collected. If the participant refuses to return the grant, the legal procedure will be initiated according to the relevant legislation.
