Internship Location and Scope
An internship is the process by which a beneficiary receives professional training and/or gains working experience within a business or organization in another country participating in the programme. The internship program must be related to the department/program in which the student is registered and must contribute to the intern at a professional level. This suitability will then be checked by the approval of the Learning Agreement For Traineeship document by the Erasmus Program Coordinator for graduate students and the Departmental Internship Commission and Erasmus Department Coordinator for undergraduate students. Signing your Learning Agreement For Traineeship document or being supported with a grant by ITU Erasmus and International Mobility Office does not guarantee that your Erasmus internship will be counted as your compulsory internship at ITU. Therefore, when choosing your internship place, you should definitely consult your department's internship committee.
When looking for an internship, based on feedback from our students to date, we recommend trying the following:
- You can search for an institution by chatting with competent people in your field around you and searching the internet with the names of institutions related to your profession that you encounter in classes and the names of the country/city you plan to go to.
- Try to receive an acceptance letter by sending one or more types of application e-mails to the institutions you have chosen, which may include your CV and your motivation for applying to the relevant institution.
- If you are accepted from several places, be sure to inform the relevant institutions about the opportunities you will not consider.
- We recommend that you do not apply to brokerage firms .
The following organizations are not eligible for higher education internship activity within the scope of Erasmus+:
- European Union Institutions and EU agencies (see https://europa.eu/european-union/about-eu/institutions-bodies_en )
- National Agency implementing EU programs, etc. organizations.
